EFFERVESCENCE is a short film about the importance of mental health, acting as a cinematic means of suicide prevention.

Our goal is to normalize conversations about mental health, make the topic of suicide less taboo, and amplify that help is available. We believe that EFFERVESCENCE has the potential to foster important conversations, reduce stigma, and ultimately contribute to the wellbeing of our society.

Contrary to popular beliefs, suicide is more common than we think or would like to believe. Based on the CDC data, it’s among the top 9 leading causes of death for people ages 10-64. It’s also known that a big part of why someone would choose to take their own life depends on education and support structures available. Raising awareness could bring us, as a society, one step closer to lowering these alarming numbers.

With the absence of proper support systems, the characters of EFFERVESCENCE chose to leave this world on their own terms. We follow their last journey into the effervescent light at the end of the tunnel. With this narrative, we wanted to bring awareness to depression and mental health struggles and help more people choose life.
